NO LIMIT POKER OVERVIEW
No Limit Poker is the most famous of all three structures and can be quite scary. No Limit is exactly what it says, there are no limits on the size of bets that you can make. The small blind and big blind are the same as in all poker games, with the blind amount set by the table. But after that, it's all up for grabs.
Once again I'll use a $1/$2 Texas Hold'em poker game as an example:
As usual in the first round of betting, you can fold, call or raise and the only requirement of the raise is that it's by at least the minimum of $2, or whatever the level of the previous raise. The unique part of No Limit Poker however, is that there is no upper limit to what you can raise, when the action is on you, you can bet everything that you have.
All of the other streets follow the same format, at any time you can either fold, check, call or raise it up to all the chips your opponent has. Once you have put all your chips in the pot, you are considered 'all-in'.
In No Limits Poker, the potential profits are only limited by the amount of money you have at the table. Similarly the potential loss is also unlimited. Bluffing and aggression are most suited to this format of poker, but remember the risks because if a bluff goes wrong it could cost you a huge amount.
No Limits Poker provides you with both the biggest risks and rewards but it also requires you to play with total control, understanding and a lot of bravery.
It can be a bit intimidating at first, if you're sitting on a table with loose players you can regularly find yourself facing big bets. You'll also find a lot of bluffing going on in No Limit Poker, where players with weak hands try to scare you off with daunting bets.
Some players will play more cautiously in No Limit Poker as one single mistake can cost you everything and some players will play super aggressively for the same reason.
